Our Counselors Can Help You Apply
If you're struggling to pay your property taxes, our network of counselors can help you apply for property tax assistance before the November 6th deadline.
What is the HOPE program?
The City of Detroit's Homeowners Property Exemption (HOPE) program offers qualifying Detroit homeowners a property tax exemption for their current year property taxes. Exemptions are offered at 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 10% of a Detroit property tax bill.
Is there a deadline to apply for HOPE?
Apply before the November 6th deadline to be considered for a HOPE exemption. The application deadline has been moved up from previous years, so don't wait to apply!
Do I qualify for HOPE?
HOPE eligibility depends on homeownership, primary residence and household income. The City of Detroit determines eligibility. The Detroit Housing Network is here to help residents apply.
