Advocating for Detroiters

Detroit Housing Network partners and funders work behind the scenes supporting network Members by listening and learning from the organizations on the ground. Our partners pair these learnings with data and historical knowldge of housing trends to advocate for change in the way Detroiters receive housing services.

Network Public Sponsor

The City of Detroit’s Housing Revitalization Department (HRD) has been at the forefront of the Detroit Housing Network’s development from its inception. After identifying the need for a simpler and more equitable way of accessing housing services in Detroit, HRD gathered some of the city’s most trusted housing service providers in 2020. Their collective mission was to reimagine and co-create a new way for Detroiters to access essential housing services. Today, HRD continues to advocate for the Detroit Housing Network and ensure access to decent and affordable housing options in neighborhoods across the city.

Network Manager

CHN Housing Partners (CHN) is a housing service provider, large-scale affordable housing developer and residential lender that believes a permanent address has the power to improve housing stability and economic mobility. CHN was chosen by The City of Detroit to lead the co-creation of the Detroit Housing Network (DHN) pilot in 2020 and has since worked with DHN Members to understand their vision for more accessible housing services. As the DHN Network Manager, CHN continues to work with DHN Members, funders and the larger Detroit housing ecosystem to advocate for accessible housing services and convene the right partners to design and implement them.
